Each bassinet has special touches to make it distinctly male and female. Don't forget to remove everything out of the cribs before you put your babies in them. A simple white bookcase in Zajfen's nursery is a great place for the brilliant spines of baby books.
She used blocks to spell out a personalized sign at the top. This corner is filled with natural light, and the flowers add a colorful touch. The storage space next to the rocking chair allows her to stash personal things, since she'll be spending a lot of time in the room! Britt, of Gus and Lula, named her blog after her adopted twins a boy and a girl from Ethiopia. She decided on a yellow-and-green color scheme when designing her nursery.
Even the chandelier is green, transformed by some craft paint. Wall art above the dresser is the result of one of Britt's DIY projects. She used Photoshop and a projector to complete the charming print in about eight hours. Britt added a photo of the twins that was taken in Ethiopia to this wall vignette. You can find more of her fun art prints on her Etsy shop.
Magda Eddleman, of Life Through My Camera Lens, didn't want to stick to a single theme for her twins' Lucy's and Reid's nursery, so she created a cheerful room that works well for both genders. Yellow curtains and striped fabric-covered letter initials keep the room happy. Eddleman bought this adorable set of boys' and girls' wall art prints from Little Pergola Art on Etsy. The happy colors of the circle dot-patterned lampshade match the polka-dot dresser knobs on top of the sunshine-yellow dresser.
The rainbow-colored rug and multicolored mobiles set a vibrant tone for the room. The purple dresser-slash-changing-table has plenty of storage space for essential baby items. A funky constellation-shaped mirror and similarly shaped artwork holder surround the wall above the couch -- to make it pop!

This would work just as well with two single beds and could be created using a single loft bed and separate single bed, giving plenty of options for future re-design.
Shared Spaces: Rooms for Two (or More) Kids
Twins are always interesting and adorable for their identical looks, especially if they are wearing the same attire. Twins mean double the cuteness and twice the love. These two identical human beings also require identical treatment when designing the bedroom for them. You are not about to think about one bed, one storage cabinets, but two beds, two cabinets, two area rugs when you are decorating the bedroom for twin girls. Seeing Double: Tips for Decorating for Twins
Designing the perfect nursery for your little bundle-to-be can be intimidating. Add a second pea to the pod, and the idea can be downright stressful. Feeling a little overwhelmed? Designing a nursery for two is not that different from designing any other space. There are just a few things to keep in mind.
I like to help my clients keep their shopping for twins simple and streamlined. Less is more. Yes, it is essential to have two cribs, but beyond that, I like the furniture to work with the room instead of trying to squeeze in two of everything. For same sex twins, the clothing is the same, so it would be perfect to include one dresser and one extra piece—like an armoire or a bookcase—in the room.

The babies are finally here! The nursery is definitely NOT on trend as one of those elegant, modern, boho baby nurseries that look like a fancy guest bedroom with a crib thrown in it. Instead, I wanted to put together a bright and colorful, gender neutral room where kids can be kids, and where both my boy and girl twins can play and grow into the space over the years … until our little girl eventually needs her own space and takes over our guest bedroom. It was a little more expensive than what I like to pay for a rug, but it definitely brings the entire room together. To add some color, I went with these fun polka dot sheets and hung lightweight Engineer Prints of a couple of my favorite photographs above the cribs. We love how it looks like the dinosaur wants to eat the giant donut!
