Strawberries are a really valuable tool in The Sims 4 since they can influence the gender of your baby! A pregnant sim has two options to make sure their sim is a girl, the first is to listen to pop music and the second is to eat strawberries! Strawberries are actually one of the harder things to find in the game. The first option for finding strawberries in The Sims 4, is to go searching around the neighbourhood for spawned plants that will appear. This is probably the most time consuming way for your sim to find a strawberry. Your next option is only available if you have The Sims 4: Seasons installed.

The Sims 4: How to Have a Baby Boy or Girl (Choose Gender)

Kenzie needed a quick escape from real-life pressures, and found "The Sims 4. If playing The Sims 4 ever gets boring or monotonous, you can really shake up your game by trying the Baby Challenge. This fan-created challenge will keep you on your toes!

You won't believe how hard this challenge can get, and just when you feel you have it under control something always happens to turn it upside-down again. I've been following some peoples' games and started playing the challenge for myself, so here I've outlined what I think is a pretty strong strategy for success. There is a lengthy list of rules that the creator of the challenge lists here , but in a nutshell, it is precisely what the name of it indicates: your Sim has to have babies.

Keep in mind, Sims don't age when they are pregnant, so this is entirely possible. It's just not easy, especially with the rules:. If your Sim dies or gets too old to reproduce, she can pass the torch to her youngest daughter. The goal is to have the babies in as few generations as possible.

It's a race against time! Creating the perfect matriarch starts with picking the right set of traits. You get to start with three traits, and you should consider them carefully. I like to spend those slots like this:. Other traits that might be helpful include social traits because they help your Sim increase charisma quickly, making it easier to meet new baby daddies or wealth traits because they help your Sim earn money.

Of course, you can always make things more challenging by picking traits like "hates children," "non-flirty," or "lazy," but honestly I feel the goals are challenging enough without making my Sim disagreeable to everything she needs to do.

Your Sim needs a home for her future family, so look for a lot that has no traits attached. The rules say if a lot has traits, you can't change them. If the lot does not have traits, you can assign it any three traits you want. You can't change these for as long as your Sims live on that lot, but if you choose carefully, the traits can be a great advantage. Remember, it's just as important to age kids up and move them out quickly as it is to bring in more babies. These lot traits help with that tremendously.

Base the third slot on what you want your Sim to do for a living. It will help your Sim to progress with skills that will earn money more quickly. For example, if you plan to have your Sim earn money by gardening, choose the "great soil" lot trait. If your Sim will make money by computer programming, choose "fast internet. I'll get to why I ruled out ley lines later, but I decided that having a romantic aura lot trait was superfluous. I can get items that will increase the romantic aura on my lot, and I can shut off romantic aura items whenever I want you can't turn off the lot trait.

In the beginning, your Sim is going to be tight on funds. It might be tempting to look for a big house that will hold the big family that is to come, however, it's unnecessary when she first begins popping out puppies. Start with a smaller house that the potential to let you add on more rooms or expand the size of rooms on an as-needed basis.

It also might be tempting to purchase things to make your home look cozy or pretty. Try to resist the temptation of wasting money on landscaping, toilet paper holders or wall art. When your Sim is making more money, you can go nuts.

In the beginning, though, it's best to hold onto some cash by spending money only on what will actually give you an advantage in the game: necessary furnishings and appliances, items that build skills, etc. The cheapest beds can make your Sims uncomfortable, and they take more time to replenish your Sim's energy.

I would personally rather have a good-quality bed than a carpet, or paint on the walls. Start by getting your matriarch the best bed she can afford. The money will be well spent. Later, it will pay to get teens high-quality beds as well. Save money by getting teens double beds and making them share. Don't pay for a sink. They really are useless. Your Sims don't get germs.

When your matriarch has a work deadline, a crying baby and a hungry toddler, that 5 Sim-minutes it takes her to wash her dish or wash her hands after using the toilet could have been much better spent. When your Sim is dirty, just send him to shower or bathe. When your Sim finishes a meal, just toss the dish in the trash. They're free, and there is no environmental impact.

You can even get a recycling trash can that'll give you money for every plate you throw away. Why spend simoleons on sinks that will just break down and make a mess every now and then when there is no actual benefit to having them? Your Sim has to earn money to support her family in this challenge, but the rules limit your options.

Your Sim can't have a job that requires her to leave the home, so most careers either active careers, in which you follow your Sim to work, or "rabbit hole" careers, in which your Sim disappears a few hours per day are ruled out. This means every time your Sim has a baby, she gets three paid days off. Sim pregnancy lasts three days, and if you have a baby every three or four days, you can pretty much earn a set income while barely going to work.

To top it off, you keep earning vacation days when you're on family leave, so you get even more paid days off.

The rules require you to play on normal life span that would be 48 days for a Sim to go through young adulthood and adulthood , but the catch is that Sims don't age when they are pregnant!

Hence, if you keep your matriarch pregnant all the time, she would never age. Theoretically, this makes it possible to finish the challenge in a single generation, but I haven't yet met anyone who has done this. I have my matriarch continually searching for new love interests.

When I expect her to go into labor, I have her invite a love interest over so that he's there when she gives birth. Immediately after she has one baby, I send her to the bedroom to try for another. There are no gaps between pregnancies. Therefore there is no aging. There is no rule against jumping around to different aspirations in this challenge, so take advantage of those aspiration points. These points can buy you some valuable rewards, such as traits that decrease your need decay, traits that help you learn skills faster, or traits that make you more alluring so that you can lure your next baby daddy.

When your Sim goes out to meet people, switch to a popularity aspiration. When your Sim has to cook for her kids, use the food aspiration. Keep hopping aspirations throughout her day based on her activities so she racks up points, then use these points to purchase the trait rewards that make life easier. I didn't bother to choose the "ley line" lot trait, and I won't bother purchasing the "fertile" aspiration trait.

It might seem that it's better to knock out two or three children at a time since your Sim is racing to have babies, but ultimately I think slow and steady will win the race. When you have twins or triplets, it's much harder to keep up with caring for babies and toddlers all at once. More importantly, though, you're only allowed to have eight Sims living on one lot at any given time.

If your Sim has twins or triplets to take up the last of those slots before she has teens ready to age up to young adult and move out, she can't get pregnant. This means she'll start aging. I'd rather keep the ages staggered, with teens ready to age up and move out so she can be ready for the next pregnancy.

You need The Sims 4: Get Together expansion pack to use this strategy, but it is extremely helpful. When your Sim is in a club, some perks enable her to build skills and relationships more quickly. You can easily go overboard with clubs to the point at which it could be considered cheating for example, a club that helps your household get skill perks just for showering and sleeping might be going overboard.

Be careful, but make use of this valuable resource. Yes, I actually just look for households full of baby daddies in the user gallery and place them on random lots.

I find you need to replenish donors occasionally because you start to run out of townies; many of them begin aging and dying before you get to them. You have to keep aging up the kids and moving them out so you can have more babies. There are also rules about when you can age kids up; once a baby's 1st birthday notice pops up, you can age him up to toddler.

Once the toddler achieves level 3 or higher in all 5 toddler skills, you can age them up to a child. Children need to become an A student to age them to teens. Teens need to be A students and, if you have parenthood, have 1 character value trait to be aged up to adult. Once they're adults you can move them out to make room for a new baby. That's why it's so challenging; it's not enough just to give birth to babies, you have to follow the rules in bringing them to adulthood and moving them out of the house.

Food for boy/girl?

View Full Version : To Have a baby girl.. Hi, if you want to have a baby girl.. The game code increases chances of having boys by eating apples or food cooked with apples. I'm not sure about the turnip soup for girls, as the code actually says watermelon. I don't believe there are any watermelons in the game, so it's possible that somewhere it becomes turnips, or food made with turnips.

Pregnancy is a game mechanic and multiple-day event that begins after a successful " Try for Baby " interaction between two Sims of the opposite sex, and ends with the pregnant female Sim giving birth to one or more newborn babies. Pregnancy brings many physical and lifestyle changes to the pregnant Sim, including increasing body size, faster-decreasing motives , and forced maternity leave from work.
